1. Classification by Current Carrying Capacity

1.1 Low Current Connectors

Typically used for auxiliary circuits, such as control signals, lighting, etc.
Current carrying capacity generally ranges from 10A to 50A.
Smaller in size, making installation and wiring easier.


1.2 Medium Current Connectors

Used for internal connections within the battery pack or between the battery and motor controller.
Current carrying capacity ranges from 50A to 200A.
Moderate size, requiring attention to heat dissipation and contact resistance.


1.3 High Current Connectors

Primarily used for connections between the main battery pack and the inverter.
Current carrying capacity exceeds 200A and can reach several thousand amperes.
Larger in size, typically utilizing liquid or air cooling for heat dissipation.


2. Classification by Shape and Structure

2.1 Circular Connectors

Simple structure with good sealing performance, suitable for high-voltage applications.
Common sizes include M8, M12, M16, where the number indicates the outer diameter of the connector in millimeters.


2.2 Rectangular Connectors

Large contact area, suitable for high current transmission.
Available in various sizes, such as 2.54mm pitch, 3.5mm pitch, etc., where the pitch refers to the distance between the centers of adjacent pins.


2.3 Flat Connectors

Flat shape, convenient for wiring in tight spaces.
Commonly used for connections between battery modules, with sizes designed based on specific applications.


3. Classification by Connection Method

3.1 Plug-in Connectors

Easy to install and remove, suitable for parts that require frequent maintenance.
Available in self-locking and non-self-locking types, with the self-locking type preventing accidental disconnection.


3.2 Bolt Connection Connectors

Electrical connection achieved through bolt fastening, offering high reliability.
Suitable for high current and high vibration environments, though installation and removal are more complex.


4. Classification by Protection Rating

4.1 IP67 and Above

Provides dustproof and short-term waterproof protection, suitable for outdoor or harsh environments.
Typically features a sealed design to prevent dust and moisture ingress.


4.2 IP54 and Below

Mainly used in indoor or environments with better conditions, offering relatively lower protection levels.
